Buffalo, New York was burned by British forces on December 30, 1813 during the War of 1812, and once the war ended, the proud city began to rebuild. On March 5, 2016, the Buffalo Stamp Club offered a postmark for BUFPEX commemorating the two centuries of reconstruction, which the organizers erroneously called the "sesquicentennial" rather than the "bicentennial".
For these covers, I digitally cropped a 1962 U.S. Geological Survey map of the city as a background and used one 80¢ buffalo stamp (Scott 3505d) from the USPS release commemorating the centennial of Buffalo's 1901 Pan-American Exposition — the expo that resulted in the accidental release of the famous 1¢, 2¢, and 4¢ stamps with inverted vignettes.
