National First Ladies’ Library portrait covers

National First Ladies’ Library: Martha Washington
National First Ladies’ Library: Abigail Adams

National First Ladies’ Library: Dolley Madison
National First Ladies’ Library: Eleanor Roosevelt

The wives of five U.S. Presidents — a role formally referred to as "First Lady of the United States" — have been featured on United States stamps (some more than once). For this set of four covers, bearing their portraits and their stamps, I chose four of the five: Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, Dolley Madison, and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Lady Bird Johnson was omitted solely for practical reasons.
