Amagansett. A free library association has lately been organized in the village with most encouraging prospects. It starts with a stock of 1000 volumes, with other property valued at $200 and with an active supporting membership of over one hundred. A model library system has been installed under the direction of one of the state library organizers. A charter was granted and an initial grant of state money was made to the new library by the Regents on February 24, 1916. [1]
