River Falls. A new public library was opened on June 28th, in the M. A. Shepard building. Miss Susan Grey Akers, of the Wisconsin Library Commission, had spent one week assisting in the final arrangements for the opening of the library. A reading room with an attrac tive collection of magazines and 500 volumes is open to the public daily from 9:30 to 12, 1 to 5, and 7 to 9 o'clock, under the direction of Miss Lou Copley, who has been appointed librarian. In 1907, a library fund was started for books and periodicals by the Tuesday Club of River Falls. Finally, on May 21, 1923, the River Falls Library Association was organized and on June 28th, the library was opened. [2]
