Alaska Bald Eagle Festival 2016 cover

The American Bald Eagle Foundation hosts an annual celebration in Alaska to celebrate the iconic bird that has come to symbolize the United States.

For this cover by Joshua McGee, I rendered a digital sketch of a bald eagle's head above its scientific name, "Haliaeetus leucocephalus". A steel accent decorates the top of the cover. For postage, I used one Bald Eagle stamp from the North American Wildlife issue (Scott #2309) and one Alaska Statehood stamp (Scott #4374). The covers are postmarked with a "American Bald Eagle Foundation Alaska Bald Eagle Festival" pictorial postmark from Haines, Alaska, 99827 dated November 16, 2016.
